What is your greatest strength and do you use it for good or for evil?

I think that one of my greatest strengths is my ability to learn new things on my own. That allowed me to learn more about what I do every day at Jexan, and it helped me learn how to play a variety of musical instruments, including guitar, drums, bass and percussion. Of course I use that strength for good, unless I get crazy and want to learn something evil.

If you could choose another decade to live in, what would it be?

80s baby! I love that decade, mostly for the music that was created.

If you were a musical instrument, what would you be?

I would be a guitar, an acoustic one.

If you had a theme song, what would it be?

I’m not a fan of Final Fantasy, but one day I found this theme song and I just fell in love with it. I really love celtic music.

What’s the biggest misconception people have about you?

When people think that I just fix computers. I’m a programmer for God’s sake!!!

What is your favorite book?

Its title is The Book Thief; I have always been intrigued and very passionate about the theme of the Jewish Holocaust and the Second World War, and this book touches on the subject, mixing innocence and cruelty, in such a way that the reader is moved to fall in love with the history and characters. If you have not had a chance to read it, I highly recommend it!

What is your favorite guilty pleasure television show?

Ru Paul Drag Race, definitely! I love Ru, and his show makes me laugh a lot.

What is one thing you absolutely love that everyone else hates?

Pineapple on pizza and tacos! My friends say that I have a place reserved in hell for committing such an atrocity, but I really love it, it tastes delicious!!!

What’s your mantra?

“We suffer a lot for what we lack, and enjoy little for how much we have” … this sentence was framed in my grandparents’ house, and when I was old enough to understand the great meaning it had, I made it a law of life for myself. Whenever something goes wrong, or I begin to feel unhappy with my life, I repeat it and I understand how fortunate I am for everything I have.

Where were you when you got your first kiss?

It was on the beach, I was twelve years old. His name was Alejandro, and I must admit that he kissed very well! I met him again several years later when we were both in the same dance group, and by that time he seemed like a very cocky guy!

Matches or lighters?

Matches. I have a funny story about matches:

When I was about four years old, the age when a child is totally forbidden to touch all sorts of things that could be harmful to their health, I made some discoveries. I discovered how to use matches. It was fascinating for me to see that little flame coming out of the little wooden wand, but it was sad to see how soon the flame went out. So I decided to find a bigger “match”, and found it. But it turned out to be a, what we call here, “silbador” (whistler), a small pyrotechnic device typically used for Christmas and New Year. But I didn’t know it was a whistler and for me it was a great big match and I decided to turn it on… You should have seen my face light up with happiness to see that peculiar sparkling flame dancing off the wick, but even more, you should have seen my mother’s face when she saw the smoke coming out of my back (because I got scared when my mom asked me “what are you doing?” and I “hid” it behind me). Then, the whistle, by their nature he took its course on a brief trip inside the house, making that loud sound which inspired its name. He ended his journey on a cushion, so it got burned a little, (it is a pity that we no longer have it to show a photo) and ended the episode with a frightened mother and a surprised brother.
